Today’s joy

Warm sun
(too hot)
good work
(too hard but
the pleasant muscle-ache
will sing me
to sleep)

A puppy
(one of those
eternal ones)
her warm wet tongue
my constant watching
making me dream
of babies.

  1. Love this! I checked out your blog after receiving your comment and was drawn to your poetry. I also write poetry, though I haven’t shared anything via WP yet.

    • Thank you! I hope you’ll share your poetry soon. Your prose posts are really well-written, so I expect your poetry is as well. 🙂

I just followed your blog and I’m excited to read more of your thoughts on education! I’ve started taking seminars at my university to make myself think more critically about my own presence and techniques in the classroom and your blog posts seem like they will help spark those thoughts!
