Alternative hypotheses

Alternative
hypothesis.
She says you can’t state an alternative
until you have one
hypothesis.

One
supposing.

But

“suppose”

is to admit doubt, uncertainty.

Rather,
you can’t have one hypothesis
until you have
alternatives.

Agnostics have it right.

They say not “belief”
but suppose
maybe
we don’t know.
One hypothesis.

One

“suppose”

admitting other possibilities.

  1. That was a mind warp. I’m sitting here trying to bend and stretch my mind into understanding. A beautiful poem and I think for me it highlights the craziness, contrariness and absurdity of academia.

I had to read it a couple of times; good poetry usually does that to you. 🙂
